Indoor Facility
Get Ready Indoors!
- How can I practice with snow on the ground?
- Isn't it too cold for my aluminum bat?
- Won't my glove shatter in these temperatures?
- How do my opponents get a jump-start on the season?
No worries - the solution is inside the Snyder Baseball facility. We’re Haymarket, just off Route 66 at the intersection of Routes 15 and 55. The facility has almost 8,000 square feet of open (TURFED) floor space that can be divided into as many as 5 netted tunnels. There is also an additional area that will have two tunnels with Iron Mike pitching machines and a throwing/fielding lane.
A team can be split into three groups of four players rotating through three stations. The suggested stations are:
- live hitting in one 40’ tunnel
- hitting drills in one 40’ tunnel and in the soft toss cage
- throwing/pitching/infield practice in the throwing area.
You may elect to have two live batting practice stations in the 40’ tunnels. Pitching machines are available upon request. The facility is equipped with protective L-screens, hitting tees and tennis balls for the drill stations. Click here for information about team rentals and rates.
Practice Like a Pro
Here’s a little baseball secret: To play like a pro, you must practice like a pro. Snyder Baseball has just installed two of the tools that professionals use for the best possible practice: AstroTurf and the Iron Mike Pitching Machine. Now you can get that professional edge to beat your competition, and it’s right here at Snyder Baseball.
AstroTurf
Wow! What a beautiful lawn. Not outside—but inside! What once was the football field in the Georgia
Dome is now underfoot
inside Snyder Baseball—AstroTurf!
You can practice your baseball skills on the same stuff that
the Atlanta
Falcons ran
across to score touchdowns. If it’s good enough for professional
football, it’s the right stuff for friends of Snyder Baseball.
The AstroTurf in the Snyder Baseball facility now makes your practice safe and easy on the body. The new surface is easier on the feet, the back, and feels great during a flawless infield practice. Try it—this stuff is so sweet the Georgia Dome sells it in little boxes as souvenirs!
Iron Mike MP-4
Do you know what is bad about pitching machines? Machines don’t
effectively simulate the experience of seeing a real, live, human
pitcher wind-up and release the baseball. Until now! Snyder
Baseball now has the premiere pitching machine in all of baseball. The
Iron Mike MP-4 Pitching Machine throws pitches with an arm. The
batter can watch the arm wind-up and throw the ball—exactly
what a batter must practice to “read the ball” and
compete against the best pitchers. That’s why the Iron
Mike arm-style pitching machines are the favorites of professional
players and coaches worldwide, and the MP-4 is the favorite of
major league teams!
Now you can practice indoors, in any weather, at any time, with the Iron Mike MP-4 at Snyder Baseball. Call 703.754.6810 now to reserve your private session with Iron Mike.
